Macau’s luxurious Legend Palace Hotel opened to great anticipation in February 2017. Drawing aesthetics from Monte Carlo, Legend Palace Hotel joins the Victorian-styled Rocks Hotel and the Harvourview Hotel as top-notch East European-inspired accommodation along Macau Fisherman’s Wharf. With an on site casino and open views of water, the 5-star deluxe resort really does harken to the glamorous French Riviera. Instead of sprawling out and cramming guests in, Legend Palace Hotel has opted for a more personal experience by offering only 223 immaculate rooms and suites to suit busy business executives to families on a leisure holiday.
Legend Palace Hotel Rooms & Suites
The rooms at Legend Palace Hotel are so inviting, you may be tempted to spend your days inside or lazing on your private balcony. The sophisticated aesthetic will delight artistic travellers with royal blue patterned carpet with cut inlays and delicate gold accents on the wood furniture. Dreamy lilac and cornflower accents on the walls compliment the rich floral curtains, and even the air vent is a beautiful white panel of curlicues. However, as easy as it would be to enjoy a solitary hideaway, most rooms are equally equipped to entertain with large seating areas.
The one-bedroom accommodation options at Legend Palace Hotel provide 40 to 114 square meters of space, and their ornamental furnishings cleverly maximise space. For instance, in some room types, the flat screen LED HDTV tucked into the wooden cabinet at the base of the bed can be turned 180 degrees to face the lounge area. Otherwise, television is also built-in to be viewed on a mirror while soaking in the tub, and the hairdryer and vanity mirror tuck neatly away into the cherry-stained table.
In total, there are 10 room types at Legend Palace Hotel, with sweeping views of the city, the garden and the Pearl River. Families will love the 2-bedroom suite with a private garden, outfitted with a picnic table and umbrella. The patio also includes a lounge with a collapsible tent-like roof that continually offers shade. The kitchen, indoor dining room and bar area really make the suite feel like home, but butler service is available for an extra bit of indulgence.

Legend Palace Hotel Facilities
The outdoor pool is one of the highlights of Legend Palace Hotel. Guests can swim year-round in 28 °C water. (Similarly, the outdoor Jacuzzi maintains a temperature of around 32-36 °C.) A small shallow area is sectioned off for children, and those swimming laps will appreciate the workout music playing underwater. Pergolas and cabanas stuffed with comfy loungers surround the pool deck, and upon arrival, water and towels are brought to you along with a menu for the Float pool bar. Diners can eat inside Float, which is reminiscent of the glamorous old Southern homes in the States, or at the outdoor bar.
Gym junkies can exercise from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM with the oversight of a trainer. Post-workout, they can use the sauna and steam room facilities in the changing area. To truly release tension, a visit the spa is just the solution. Guests may book a double appointment to accommodate two guests in connected treatment rooms. The Legend Palace Hotel spa specialty is a Thai massage, so expect gentle stretching to help release your tired muscles.
Legend Palace Hotel Dining
For a resort with only 223 rooms, Legend Palace Hotel spoils guests with choice of food. Aside from the light fare at the Float pool bar, guests can head up to the swanky Lounge on Eight or pop over to the 24-hour Infinite for Chinese and Western cuisine. Brasserie de Paris offers even more choice with a global menu, and you can eat outdoors with views of the Ponte de Amizade, aka: “bridge of friendship.” But a guest favourite is The Grand Palace, which specialises in fine dining Cantonese cuisine. Private parties can enjoy dim sum in one of ten VIP rooms (five of which connect) with a balcony over the water, a pantry and a toilet. However, if you’re only after a drink, sip away on vintage whiskey, wines and liquors at The Gallery.
Overview of Legend Palace Hotel
Legend Palace Hotel makes for a charming escape from the chaos of everyday life. The décor is sumptuous, yet tasteful; the friendly service is first-rate; and the hotel is in a great location. You can simply walk off the Outer Harbour Ferry to the hotel (or wait for a complimentary shuttle), and you can spend cool breezy evenings strolling along Macau Fisherman’s Wharf. My stay at Legend Palace Hotel was faultless from check-in to check out, and my biggest regret was only staying one night.
