In August, I embarked on a Colorado family adventure vacation with my husband and parents. Intergenerational travel is becoming more popular, and with so many options, there’s no reason that a family of two or three generations can’t explore the great outdoors of the Rocky Mountain State together.
After a successful pitch to Times of the Islands Media, I assembled an itinerary full of outdoor adventure activities. The round up describes five different options to kick up adrenaline levels as families enjoy Colorado’s awe-inspiring natural scenery. The 750-word story about Colorado family adventure vacations was printed in the January/ February 2018 editions of Bonita & Estero and Times of the Islands.

Spotted wildlife in a kayak with Adventure Paddle Tours…
And soared over Williams Canyon at Cave of the Winds.
Our Colorado family adventure vacation also included white-water rafting on Bighorn Sheep Canyon with Raft Masters…
And veering around switchbacks as we coasted down a 14,000+ foot mountain with Pikes Peak Bike Tours!
Colorado is essentially a huge outdoor playground, and our family loved exploring the wilderness by land, air and sea. If it’s any indicator, my parents are hoping to head out there for a month next summer – and I definitely plan on visiting!
